Dear Perspective Graduate Student,
Unfortunately I will have very limited opportunities for MNS graduate students. The reasons for this are many:
* limited internal funding and no external funding;
* limited lab space and equipment;
* excessive obligations to University and departmental committees;
* numerous undergraduate students doing research to fulfill experiential learning requirements.
Until these conditions change you are best advised to consider other Faculty or an another institution. You are welcome to inquire, but there is not any likelihood that I will be able to accommodate your request. Sadly, I will turn away even the most accomplished students.
Based on numerous inquiries by international students here are things to keep in mind:
* there are no research assistantships available to support you or your research;
* there are a limited amount of teaching assistantships, and non-native English speaking students are not eligible for them in the first semester;
* Southeast does not offer any Post-doctoral positions, Ph. D. degrees, or medical degrees (M. D. or D. O.) of any kind;
* it is not clear that students holding advanced degrees from their home institutions will benefit from repeating their graduate programs here.
I wish you best of luck in your academic pursuits, but at this time it will not include research in my lab.
