I was born and raised in Farmington, MO.  Most of my undergraduate and graduate education was completed in the St. Louis area at the University of Missouri - St. Louis and Saint Louis University.  I have taught high school at Farmington Senior High School and Ritenour Senior High School, which is near St. Louis' Lambert Airport.  At the college and university level, I taught at Parks College of Saint Louis University, the University of Tennessee - Martin and the University of Arkansas - Monticello before coming to Southeast Missouri State University in August 1998.  From August 2004 until May 2014, it was my privilege to serve as the director of the Jane Stephens Honors Program at Southeast.
