Field Trips Planned for Spring
2009 So Far: (Students will be expected to participate in at least two of these) Wednesday February 4th - 6th. Missouri Natural Resources Conference,, Osage Beach, MO. Primary target, Missouri Chapter, Society for Conservation Biology Workshop (Friday 6th,8:00 - noon): "Managing Biological Resources in a State Undergoing Climate Change" Departure from Southeast TBA announced - returning probably Friday 6th by 5:00 p.m. Registration at MNRC conference required. Travel and accommodations at Tan-Tar-A to be arranged via Dr. Bill Eddleman.
Saturday April 11th: Pioneer Forest, Salem, MO
for a review of sustainable forestry management practices. Depart
Southeast app. 7:30 - 8:00 a.m. return by 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.
Sunday April 19th: World Bird Sanctuary,
Eureka, MO for discussion of captive breeding and wild release program
success with Missouri raptors. Depart Southeast app. 9:00 a.m.
return by around 5:00 p.m.
Saturday April 25th: Saint Louis Zoo
(Primate House) for discussion of captive breeding and the role of
zoos in Species Survival Programs. Depart Southeast app. 9:00 a.m.
return by around 5:00 / 6:00 p.m. |
