The Garrobo or Black iguana (Ctenosaura similis) is closely related to the more well-known green iguana (Iguana iguana) but is generally darker and less greenish with a shorter tail.  The garrobo also lacks a large scale on the side of the head, possessed by green iguanas.  These lizards are often seen further from water than are green iguanas.
