Chaco Koa WaYa Sunkmanitu Tanka
See Chaco-I for explanation

Yesterday (May 10th) was my birthday (6 months). We didn't really celebrate - I just got bigger again! I crossed 65 lbs last weekend (according to Alan) on my way to an unknown weight (but Mom was 100 lbs and Dad was 90lbs), so they're guessing I have 30 or so more to gain.
We get out to play several times a day- which is fun;

but I could stay out all day.

Even the insects here are fun to play with - though sometimes they take a little more coaxing to get 'em out of the ground than others.
Time was when I was no bigger than this silly cat - but the worm has seriously turned now!
All I really want to do is play, but the kitty just keeps batting my nose! These big white teeth don't seem to phase her one bit.
It's times like this when the kitty needs a few strong words of advice about her behavior.
Alan and Kathy said something about a canoe trip - so they took me out to practice. We started with stick-chasing in the lake.
They actually thought this would tire me out before I boarded the canoe - silly...silly...silly!
Of course, they weren't prepared to go immediately to the water phase of the training program....we had to start on dry land! No-one was wet -  yet!
Then they prepared the canoe for launch - but we're still firmly on dry land.
Then they invited me to take a look at the arrangments.
And persuaded me to 'climb aboard.' Plenty of treats were involved in this process. I really do have 'em trained!
Someone said "I think we're ready to go!" They also said something about how important it is to keep sitting down.
And then we were off on our adventure.  I don't know - but it looks to me as though Mom might be praying.
Things seemed to be going ok for a while - swimmingly - one might say.
In fact, at times we were moving so fast that Jill couldn't even keep us in focus.
This is when I decided that 'swimmingly' meant we should be actually swimming.
I think I felt a distinct and firm push on the butt just before this was taken.
Back in the canoe, I trained them some more on the treats-for-lying-down principle.
You just wouldn't believe how many treats I scored on this phase of the training program!
We toured the lake several times - all the while getting more and more yummies.  All I had to do was stand up - and another yummy appeared.
There was a brief period when Mom turned around, but most of the time she seemed to be traveling backwards.
Jill took this photo just because it shows what a pretty place we went for the lessons. Amazingly, so they said, I was the only one who rally ended up soaking wet from this training program. I just couldn't figure out why anyone would go to the lake and not end up soaked.

I still can't get enough of these rawhide bones! I'd like to meet the inventor and give him (or her) a big "Thank-you" lick.

They call this the 'killer toy' because I can not only whack them across the knees, but I can also break valuable coffee table tops and ceramic mementos - not that I have done either yet - you understand; it's just their fear.
We had a dinner party just after the June Solstice, and my new buddy Brennan came to play.
After my trying to terrorize him for four hours, we finally settled down to share a bone.
It's not quite 'the lion lying down with the lamb' but some folks were quite surprised at how well we finally got along.
It looks as though Brennan wants to nibble my tail, but he's really busy
with a mouth-full of my bone.
