I have an undergraduate degree in Biology and a masters in Geology. I have been teaching Geoscience courses since fall of 1999. This is my second career, my first being dentistry. I am presently doing research in light reflectance and plant fertility as well as hydrothermal clay alteration. |

Purpose: The purpose of this course is to give you a deeper understanding of the world around you. During this course you will be introduced to new concepts such as plate tectonics, global warming etc. and shown how these broad ranging processes impact you. In the end you should be able to recognize possible environmental threats to you and your property, understand why they are threats and determine the appropriate course of action. This course is offered ITV to multiple sites and has an online, web based lab section

Purpose: Examining the Earth as it changes through time and the impact of this change on the biota. Extinction events will be examined with these events being correlated to both climatic change and plate tectonics. The reasons for climatic change will also be looked at. The information gained by looking at the past will give the student insights to our worlds response to global warming. This is a web assisted course with material on line that will enhance the students understanding of the nature of the Earth. This is a 300 level course with no prerequisite. |
