What a math teacher does when she's not teaching math

  • If I'm not in town, look for me on the river. I like to kayak at the St. Francis River over near Fredericktown.
  • Love tennis, too. In nice weather, there's often an open house casual tennis gathering at the SEMO courts on Saturdays. We meet at 8 am in the summer, 9 am in the spring and fall. Anyone is welcome. Both men and women come, with a variety of skills. As long as two people show up, it works. We vary from three to 10 people. Ask me about it if you are interested.
  • No time for it when I'm teaching, but love to quilt and maintain the website for the River Heritgage Quilters Guild. My guild (not me) made the Southeast Quilt in the display case between the food court and the elevator in the UC.
  • For awhile we had a deaf family at church, and a bunch of us were learning to sign. Wish I were better at it. I used it when I was bitten by a copperhead snake just before my daughter graduated from college. My colorful foot earned me a spot in the handicapped section, and a deaf person wanted to know what I had done. I was able to finger spell s-n-a-k-e.
  • My church is a big part of my life. I worship with the Cape Church of Christ. You can sign up to get a daily bible verse by e-mail .
